Effect of using Fuzzy Trapezoidal Numbers for Weighting Scale in QFD
Track: D2
Abstract:
Generally, in QFD charts the relationships between Customer Attributes and
Engineering Characteristics can be defined using three linguistic variables as Weak,
Medium and Strong. Reversing in priority of results (rank reversing) is possible
when various scales such as 1-3-5 or 1-3-9 are employed. In this paper, fuzzy
numbers with Trapezoidal and Triangular membership function are applied to a
sample 6*2 QFD chart. The results obtained from a simulation experiment and ANOVA
test, have shown reduction in rank reversing and sensitivity of results to the
scale changing on the sample chart.
